3. Booking and Payment

All vehicle bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. A security deposit may be required at the time of booking or vehicle collection, which will be refunded upon the safe return of the vehicle in its original condition, subject to inspection. Full payment for the rental period is typically due upon collection. We accept various payment methods, which will be communicated during the booking process.

4. Vehicle Use and Renter Responsibilities

As the renter, you agree to:

• Operate the vehicle safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and regulations in the UK and any other country where the vehicle is used (if European cover is taken).
• Return the vehicle on time, in the same condition as received, allowing for fair wear and tear.
• Immediately report any accidents, damage, theft, or mechanical breakdowns to Kirkcaldy Vehicle Rental Services.
• Ensure that only drivers listed and approved on the rental agreement operate the vehicle.
• Be responsible for all fines, penalties, tolls, and charges incurred during the rental period (e.g., parking tickets, speeding fines, congestion charges).
• Maintain appropriate fuel levels as per the rental agreement (e.g., full-to-full).

5. Insurance and Liability

All our vehicle rentals include comprehensive insurance coverage as standard. The specifics of this coverage, including any excess amounts and exclusions, will be clearly outlined in your rental agreement. You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle or third-party property that falls outside the scope of the insurance policy or exceeds the applicable insurance excess. Optional additional insurance products may be available to reduce your liability.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Our cancellation and amendment policies vary depending on the type of vehicle, rental duration, and the notice period provided. Please refer to your specific booking confirmation for detailed terms regarding cancellations, refunds, and modifications to your reservation. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Termination of Service

Kirkcaldy Vehicle Rental Services reserves the right to terminate your rental agreement and repossess the vehicle immediately if you breach any of these Terms of Service, or if we determine that the vehicle is being used unlawfully, negligently, or in a manner that poses a risk to safety or property.
